Our Expert Advice
Which diamond to choose? You might see how apparently identical diamonds actually are quite different. They might have the same clarity, colour and weight but light reflection, sparkle and overall apprearance and prices might differ. Our experts will be delighted to answer all your questions and advice you on your purchase.

Diamond Certificates
When you order a diamond, we ship it to you with the accompanying diamond grading report (diamond certificate). These certificates are detailed documents created by diamond grading experts at a highly-respected diamond laboratory — making it very expensive to replace a diamond grading report. Because of this, we require each diamond grading report to be included with each returned diamond. If you do not include both the diamond grading report and appraisal with your return, you will be charged a replacement fee.

Diamond Certificates are very important documents that show in detail a diamond's characteristics. They provide detailed information about the clarity, colour, carat and cut, as well as detailed information about the proportions and inclusions.

A certificate helps you to buy your diamond with confidence.

A diamond certificate, however, is only useful if it is reliable and has been issued by a reputable independent laboratory, such as GIA (Gemological Institute of America), HRD (High Council of Diamonds of Antwerp), IGI (International Gemological Institute), AGS (American Gem Society), EGL (European Gemological Laboratory), which has no financial interest in the stone. A Diamond Certificate, from a recognized Gem Trade Laboratory, is a unique fingerprint of a diamond. It not only identifies the diamond but also provides important information which helps both consumers and jewellers alike.

GemShine Policy about Conflict Diamonds: Our ethical commitment
In GemShine we are very aware of our obligations towards the environment and of our ethical and moral responsibility in the production and distribution of jewellery. We therefore buy all our diamonds exclusively from bourses who trade under the Kimberley Process umbrella.

Thanks to the speed of global communications, consumers are aware of potential problems to the integrity of diamonds. If we add to this the existence of new technologies that permit the modification or alteration the gems, the result is that consumers need to be sure about the fact that the diamonds they are buying are natural -as opposed to synthetic - and that they have not been manipulated in any way.

It is also vital that our customers can be absolutely sure of, among other things, that the diamonds they buy: - Do not come from areas in which they could support conflicts - Are not related whatsoever with child labour - Are not connected to harmful or dangerous practices, which could affect the health or well-being of people.
