Sovereign’s Orb (1661), Coronation Ring (1831) and Bracelets (1953)
The Orb was made for the coronation of Charles II and has been used at all subsequent coronations. A hollow sphere of gold with bands and cross set with over 600 precious stones and pearls. The ring, made for William IV in 1831, has been worn by all sovereigns since, with the exception of Queen Victoria. In the centre is a huge sapphire with fine rubies set over it, surrounded by large diamonds. Made of gold, the bracelets were a gift from the Commonwealth to Queen Elizabeth II for her coronation.
